Do you want to
become the leader that you have always dreamed you would become? Not
everyone is born with all the leadership qualities that are needed to
lead.
If you read any leadership articles, you will
quickly find out that most people have a great chance to become a
leader.
True leadership starts with yourself and
your attitude about leadership. Being a leader isn’t just a
privilege.
Being a leader means you have the courage to embrace
yourself with your strengths and weaknesses. As a leader, you have the
right to examine yourself and make necessary improvements.
Through my high school experience, I had a
friend who was very involved in clubs and organizations. She always put
forth the effort to be part of the leadership of those clubs.
She even
was part of the student body presidency. It was no surprise that she
received award after award at the end of each school year.
You may ask why I’m telling you
this. Well, honestly, my friend was a normal high school girl. She
wasn’t amazing at any particular things. The reason why she
was so recognized was because she put herself out there.
Whenever you read leadership articles on
great leaders, you will notice that they aren’t particularly
wonderful or magnificently skilled.
They basically think about their
follower’s wants and needs. My friend kept her promises and
knew when to put her foot down.
Probably the most important skill that my
friend had was being a Christian. She tried her best to lead in a
Christ-like way.
She understood that she needed to be humble and give
all the glory to God. As she put her confidence in God, her ability to
lead became even greater.
It isn’t very difficult to find
information online about leadership. You can even find great leadership
articles to help you get started on learning more.
One of the suggestions I ever received on
becoming a leader was to first learn how to lead myself. You
don’t have to belong to any club or organization to let
everyone know you can lead. You can show your example through your
actions toward your family, friends, colleagues, etc.
